हाल अमेरिकाको भर्जिनिया राज्यस्थित विन्चेस्टरमा बसोबास गर्दै आएका खनाल नेपाल र अमेरिका दुवैतिर व्यावसायिक रूपमा सक्रिय छन्। उनको आधिकारिक जीवनीअनुसार उनले समाजशास्त्रमा स्नातकोत्तर अध्ययन पूरा गरेका छन् र हाल सञ्चार, कला, सामाजिक तथा व्यावसायिक क्षेत्रका विभिन्न नेतृत्वदायी भूमिकामा कार्यरत छन्।

खनाल सन् २००७ देखि अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय नेपाली अनलाइन समाचार माध्यम NepalMother.com का प्रधानसम्पादक छन्। साथै, उनी अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय अंग्रेजी अनलाइन समाचार माध्यम AmericaAndWorld.com का पनि प्रधानसम्पादक हुन्। उनी नेपालका प्रमुख टेलिभिजन नेटवर्कमध्ये एक Avenues Khabar Television/Avenues Television का अमेरिका सम्पादकका रूपमा पनि कार्यरत छन्।

त्यसैगरी, उनी Federation of International Journalists America (FIJA America) का अध्यक्ष, International Artists Forum, USA का संस्थापक तथा अध्यक्ष, र अमेरिकास्थित Universal Peace Federation बाट Ambassador for Peace को रूपमा सम्मानित व्यक्ति हुन्।

पत्रकारिता, मिडिया र कलाको क्षेत्रमा मात्र होइन, खनालले अमेरिकामा लामो व्यावसायिक अनुभव पनि हासिल गरेका छन्। उनको जीवनीमा उनी International Media & Entertainment House, USA का अध्यक्ष, Khanal Business Group Inc. का अध्यक्ष तथा प्रमुख कार्यकारी अधिकृत, र American Supermarket LLC का अध्यक्ष तथा प्रमुख कार्यकारी अधिकृतका रूपमा उल्लेख छन्।

उनको व्यावसायिक अनुभवमा 7-Eleven स्टोर, ग्यास स्टेसन, सुपरमार्केट तथा रिटेल चेन सम्बन्धी फ्रेन्चाइज र व्यवसाय सञ्चालनसमेत रहेका छन्।

उनी भर्जिनिया तथा वासिङ्टन डीसी महानगरीय क्षेत्रमा लाइसेन्स प्राप्त रियल इस्टेट प्रोफेसनल, कन्सल्टेन्ट, लगानीकर्ता तथा व्यवसायी का रूपमा पनि सक्रिय छन्।

खनालको जीवनीमा संगीत, पत्रकारिता, अभिनय, व्यवसाय र सामाजिक सेवाका क्षेत्रमा प्राप्त थुप्रै राष्ट्रिय तथा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय पुरस्कार र सम्मानहरूको उल्लेख गरिएको छ।

जीवनीअनुसार उनले सन् २०२३ मा U.S. Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award प्राप्त गरेका छन्। नेपालमा उनलाई सन् २००४ मा प्रबल गोरखा दक्षिण बाहु र सन् २००५ मा प्रख्यात त्रिशक्ति पट्ट प्रदान गरिएको थियो।

उनले सन् २०२५ मा काठमाडौंमा आयोजित Global Star Music Award अन्तर्गत Most Popular Folk Singer (Male) सम्मान प्राप्त गरे। सन् २०२६ मा नेपाल सरकारको संस्कृति क्षेत्रसँग सम्बन्धित Cultural Corporation/Sanskritik Sansthan–Rastriya Nach Ghar बाट विशेष सम्मान तथा अभिनन्दन प्राप्त गरेको उनको जीवनीमा उल्लेख छ।

यसैगरी, उनले सन् २०१९ मा कतारबाट Star of the Year अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय संगीत सम्मान प्राप्त गरेका थिए।

उनको जीवनीमा “Man of the Year 2004 for Nepal” नामक American Biographical Institute को सम्मान प्राप्त गरेको र त्यसपछि अमेरिकास्थित ABI Board of Advisors मा नियुक्त भएको उल्लेख पनि छ।

जीवनीअनुसार खनालले गायन, संगीत रचना, अभिनय, पत्रकारिता तथा व्यवसायिक उपलब्धिको आधारमा अमेरिकाबाट EB-1 Extraordinary Ability श्रेणीअन्तर्गत स्थायी बसोबास अनुमति अर्थात् Green Card प्राप्त गरेका थिए।

आफ्नो करिअरमा उनले ४५० भन्दा बढी राष्ट्रिय तथा क्षेत्रीय पुरस्कार, सम्मान र अभिनन्दन प्राप्त गरेको जीवनीमा उल्लेख छ। ती सम्मानहरू व्यवसाय व्यवस्थापन, गायन, संगीत रचना, अभिनय, पत्रकारिता तथा सामाजिक सेवामा योगदानका लागि प्रदान गरिएका हुन्।

उनका अन्य प्रमुख सम्मानमा सन् २००४ को Nepal Scouts National Journalism Award, “Folk and Duet Hero” National Award, सन् २००३ को Best Folk Duet Singer Award, र सन् १९९५ को Educational Journalism/Health Sector Singing Award समावेश छन्।

उनलाई Radio Nepal र Nepal Television जस्ता नेपाल सरकारअन्तर्गतका राष्ट्रिय प्रसारण संस्थाले विशिष्ट लोक तथा दोहोरी गायक र अभिनेता का रूपमा पनि मान्यता दिएका छन्।

उनले सन् २०२६ मा Daksha International र Rastra Khabar Nepal बाट Global Star Award, पोखराका छभन्दा बढी संस्थाबाट विशेष सम्मान तथा अभिनन्दन, र सन् २०२४ मा Music Khabar International Music Award प्राप्त गरेको जीवनीमा उल्लेख गरिएको छ।

पुरस्कार र सम्मानबाहेक खनालको सिर्जनात्मक योगदान पनि निकै व्यापक छ।

उनको जीवनीअनुसार उनले १,२०० भन्दा बढी गीत लेखेका, संगीतबद्ध गरेका, गाएका र प्रकाशन गरेका छन्। उनले नेपाली लोक, लोकदोहोरी, शास्त्रीय, राष्ट्रिय, शैक्षिक, भजन, तीज, देउसी-भैलो लगायतका विधामा ५९ वटा क्यासेट, सीडी, भीसीडी तथा डीभीडी एल्बम प्रकाशन गरेका छन्।

उनले १८ वटा पुस्तक लेखेर प्रकाशित गरेका छन्, जसमा गीत, कविता, गजल, संगीत तथा अन्य साहित्यिक कृतिहरू समावेश छन्।

यसैगरी, उनले २,००० भन्दा बढी कविता, गीतिकाव्य र गजल प्रकाशन गरेका छन्।

पत्रकारिता तथा लेखन क्षेत्रमा उनले विभिन्न विषयमा ७,००० भन्दा बढी लेख पत्रपत्रिका, पुस्तक तथा अनलाइन माध्यममा प्रकाशित गरेका छन्।

पत्रकारिता खनालको पेशागत जीवनको प्रमुख आधारमध्ये एक हो।

उनले बुटवल र काठमाडौं केन्द्रित राष्ट्रिय पत्रिका निष्पक्ष राष्ट्रिय साप्ताहिक १७ वर्षभन्दा बढी समयसम्म प्रकाशित गरे। उनको जीवनीअनुसार करिब चार दशक लामो पत्रकारिता तथा प्रसारण करिअरमा उनले BBC, Radio Nepal र Nepal Television सँग पनि काम गरेका छन्।

उनले नेपालका थुप्रै प्रमुख छापा तथा प्रसारण माध्यममा काम गरेका छन्। तीमध्ये लोकपत्र राष्ट्रिय दैनिक, नेपाल टाइम्स राष्ट्रिय दैनिक, जनसंघर्ष राष्ट्रिय दैनिक, निष्पक्ष राष्ट्रिय साप्ताहिक, लुम्बिनी टाइम्स राष्ट्रिय मासिक, नेपाली पत्र राष्ट्रिय साप्ताहिक, सत्य साप्ताहिक, एक्स-रे साप्ताहिक, सन्देश दैनिक, जनआवाज राष्ट्रिय साप्ताहिक, राष्ट्र पुकार राष्ट्रिय साप्ताहिक, नेपाल वाणी राष्ट्रिय साप्ताहिक, ललकार राष्ट्रिय साप्ताहिक र गोर्खा एक्सप्रेस राष्ट्रिय साप्ताहिक उल्लेखनीय छन्।

उनको प्रसारण अनुभवमा Radio Nepal को लोकप्रिय समसामयिक कार्यक्रम “घटना र विचार” सँगको संलग्नता पनि समावेश छ।

कलाक्षेत्रमा पनि खनालको सक्रियता चलचित्र, टेलिभिजन र रंगमञ्चसम्म फैलिएको छ।

उनले अभिनय गरेका नेपाली चलचित्रमा “रातो टीका निधारमा”, “सिन्दुरे जात्रा”, “डबल ट्रिपल”, “छ माया छपक्कै–२” र “चिरञ्जीवी भव” लगायतका फिल्म समावेश छन्।

टेलिभिजनमा उनले “हिजो आजका कुरा”, “मेरी बास्सै”, “जिरे खुर्सानी” र “ब्रेक फेल” जस्ता लोकप्रिय नेपाली हास्य तथा टेलिभिजन शृंखलामा अभिनय गरेका छन्।

उनले गुल्मी, बुटवलदेखि काठमाडौंसम्म विभिन्न रंगमञ्चीय प्रस्तुतिहरूमा पनि अभिनय गरेका छन् र थुप्रै म्युजिक भिडियो तथा अन्य दृश्य उत्पादनमा समेत देखिएका छन्।

खनालको पेशागत सदस्यता र संस्थागत संलग्नता पत्रकारिता, रियल इस्टेट, व्यवसाय, कला, साहित्य तथा सामुदायिक सेवाका धेरै क्षेत्रमा फैलिएको छ।

उनी National Association of REALTORS®, Virginia REALTORS® र PWAR का सदस्य हुन्। साथै, उनी अमेरिकाको National Federation of Independent Business र Society of Professional Journalists का सदस्य पनि हुन्।

उनी Non-Resident Nepali Association, America Nepal Society, Association of Nepalese in the Americas, Nepal America Journalists Association र Nepal Film Society का आजीवन सदस्य हुन्।

उनी International Nepali Literary Society, Washington, D.C. का पूर्वअध्यक्ष तथा आजीवन सदस्य, Everest Federal Credit Union, New York का संस्थापक सदस्य, र Nepal America Community Center को Board of Trustees का सदस्य हुन्।

उनी Film Artist Association of Nepal तथा National Folk and Duet Song Academy, Nepal का मानार्थ सदस्यसमेत हुन्।

अमेरिकामा उनी Commonwealth of Virginia का Notary Public का रूपमा पनि अधिकृत छन्।

उनको जीवनीमा उल्लेख गरिएका विशेष उपलब्धिमध्ये कम उमेरमै पत्रकारिता र प्रकाशन क्षेत्रमा प्रवेश गरेको तथ्य पनि उल्लेखनीय छ।

खनालले १९ वर्षको उमेरमै आफ्नै पत्रिका स्थापना गरी प्रकाशन गरेका थिए र जीवनीअनुसार उनी नेपालका कम उमेरका प्रधानसम्पादक तथा प्रकाशकमध्ये एक बनेका थिए।

जीवनीमा उनलाई “Man of the Year 2004 for Nepal” सम्मान प्राप्त गर्ने पहिलो नेपालीका रूपमा उल्लेख गरिएको छ, जसपछि उनी ABI Board of Advisors मा नियुक्त भएका थिए।

अमेरिकामा आफ्नो हालको पेशागत जीवन निर्माण गर्नुअघि खनालले नेपालमा थुप्रै जिम्मेवारी र नेतृत्वदायी पदहरू सम्हालेका थिए।

उनी Nepal Television को Board of Directors का सदस्य थिए र त्यहाँ निर्माता, निर्देशक तथा प्रस्तोता का रूपमा काम गरेका थिए।

त्यस्तै, Radio Nepal मा उनले निर्माता, प्रस्तोता तथा निर्देशक का रूपमा सेवा गरेका थिए।

उनी Sur-Taal Music Industries Pvt. Ltd. का अध्यक्ष पनि थिए र Nepal Press Institute मा प्रशिक्षकका रूपमा काम गरेका थिए।

उनले चर्चित टेलिभिजन कार्यक्रम “हिजो आजका कुरा” तथा थुप्रै म्युजिक भिडियोमा अभिनय गरेका छन्।

उनी निष्पक्ष राष्ट्रिय साप्ताहिक का प्रधानसम्पादक तथा प्रकाशक थिए र दर्जनौं अन्य राष्ट्रिय सञ्चारमाध्यममा पनि सम्पादकीय जिम्मेवारी निर्वाह गरेका थिए।

उनी रुपन्देहीस्थित Radio Lumbini का संस्थापक/प्रवर्द्धक पनि थिए।

उनको जीवनीअनुसार उनले उत्तर अमेरिका, युरोप, एसिया, मध्यपूर्व, अफ्रिका र क्यारेबियन क्षेत्रका ५५ भन्दा बढी देश भ्रमण गरेका छन्।

विशेष रूपमा उल्लेख गरिएका देशहरूमा अमेरिका, क्यानडा, बेलायत, अष्ट्रेलिया, इटाली, स्पेन, जर्मनी, फ्रान्स, स्विट्जरल्यान्ड, नेदरल्यान्ड्स, लक्जेम्बर्ग, भ्याटिकन सिटी, जापान, चीन, भारत, भुटान, श्रीलंका, पाकिस्तान, साउदी अरेबिया, बहराइन, संयुक्त अरब इमिरेट्स, कतार, मलेसिया, सिंगापुर, थाइल्यान्ड, हैटी, डेमोक्रेटिक रिपब्लिक अफ द कंगो र बुरुन्डी लगायत छन्।

अमेरिकाभित्र उनले ४४ वटा राज्य भ्रमण गरेका छन् भने नेपालका ७७ मध्ये ७४ जिल्ला पुगेका छन्।
